Organic Rum label artwork

Besides bottles and stoppers arriving, and our racks of rum barrels steadily expanding, one of the final pieces of the rum puzzle has been to create labels, which is where this lino print comes in. All our Loveday labels begin this way, with a lino print made by in house of one or more of the botanicals in the liquid. It’s been the biggest treat to get to put my background in design, as well Daisy’s in cheffing to good use when we create new Loveday things! These always begin with photographs, scribbles and sketches, and eventually a relief image cut into lino, inked and printed. I like to keep a sense of movement and life in these plants: a curled leaf here, an imperfection there, so that they don’t feel static or particularly arranged.

So! For our organic rums we’ll be using oak to signpost our bottles, website and everything in between. - To celebrate the ex-bourbon casks that all our rums gain their mellow, vanilla, smoke deliciousness and golden hue from , and the countless beautiful old oak trees that circle our distillery in Penryn and feel such a part of the fabric of our day-to-day landscape here.
A run of these original lino prints will also accompany a limited number of first release bottles- but more on that soon!
